Planting and grooming recommendations

The great advantage of Lebetskaya violets is their unpretentiousness in flower care. With proper cultivation of the bush, problems may not arise at all.

What kind of soil he likes, lighting, degree of moisture, planting capacity

For the correct cultivation of violets, it is necessary to create favorable conditions in the room, as well as plant the flower in nutritious soil. The optimum temperature for keeping is 20-26 ℃. You should beware of drafts, as the plant does not react well to temperature fluctuations.

For maintenance, it is necessary to select places with diffused light so that the plant does not get burned. With a lack of light, flowering will not be plentiful. The soil is regularly fed with mineral fertilizers. For this, superphosphate is used and the procedure is carried out twice a month.

Water the bush once a week so as not to flood it, otherwise the soil will become compacted and become unusable. After watering, the soil is loosened 3-4 centimeters in depth.

Important! For cultivation, you need to select a neutral soil, in the acidic soil the flowers of the bush will begin to dry out and turn pale.

The main difficulties in caring for a plant

There are no serious difficulties in growing. The main thing is not to flood the bush and monitor the lighting. When water stagnates in the soil, pests and infectious diseases can appear.

Features of reproduction at home

Violet Le at home is propagated by seeds and cuttings, but the first method is rarely used. The seed method is relevant only for breeders when creating new varieties.

Description of breeding species

To propagate a flower by cuttings, a leaf is cut from an adult bush. Then put it in a glass of clean and warm water and put it in a place with good lighting. After 2 weeks, roots will appear, which can be transplanted into the substrate. Having planted in the ground, moisten from a spray bottle. Cover with foil from above and put in place with good lighting.

Transplant after purchase and during reproduction

Saintpaulias are transplanted annually in the spring. The transplant capacity in the first years of life should be slightly larger than the old volume. It is necessary to cover a third of the container with soil mixture and arrange the roots of the bush. Place the remaining substrate on top, leaving no empty spaces. Water the bush and place the container in a moderately lit place.

Violet Le has good disease immunity

Possible problems in growing violets Le

Violet does not often suffer from damage by diseases and pests, and with proper care, this problem can be avoided altogether.

Diseases

Among the diseases, powdery mildew and leaf spot are distinguished. Due to powdery mildew, the leaves of the violet are covered with a white bloom, and with spotting, brown spots appear. Dew can be cured by washing the flower with soapy water under the shower, and spotting by treating it with fungicides.

Pests

Among pests, thrips and aphids are the most troublesome for Saintpaulia. Thrips can be carried over when ventilating the room from street trees. They are destroyed with insecticides Akarin or Dantop. Aphids are located on the back of the leaves and are treated with tobacco infusion or soapy water.

Other problems

Sometimes there may be problems with drying and falling foliage, as well as a lack of flowering. At the same time, it is necessary to revise the existing care measures.

Violets Le are beautiful, and each year their varietal number increases, thanks to the activities of Elena Lebetskaya. Bright flowers look beautiful in the interior and do not require complex maintenance.
