Note! The Kalandiva variety does not grow in its natural environment, it was obtained by artificial breeding.

The length of the flower is not more than 35 cm. The leaves are at the base, have an ovoid shape. Stems are straight and leafless. A special feature is long flowering. In a favorable environment, it lasts 4-6 months. Kalanchoe has beautiful inflorescences in the form of brushes, which attract with the richness of colors. Flowers are pink, red, white. Like the Blossfeld variety, Kalanchoe Kalandiva is recognized as a highly decorative plant; it is not used in treatment, although it has a weak medicinal effect.

Flower care

Kalanchoe Calandiva is considered an undemanding flower, unlike other species. But there are still care rules that must be followed. This will give a long and beautiful flowering.

Illumination and temperature conditions

The plant needs diffused bright lighting. It is better to install the container on a window that faces the east or west. If for a long period it was cloudy or there is no possibility of creating natural light, phytolamps are installed. At night, they are turned off, since the Kalanchoe requires a short daylight hours. If the windows are southern, it is undesirable to place plants there, because there is a danger of burns. In shady conditions, flower development is suspended.

Important! The Kalandiva variety requires a temperature of 20-30 ℃ above zero. In winter, it is lowered to 15-17 ℃. A reduced temperature regime is required for the appearance of buds, otherwise there will be no abundant flowering.

Watering rules and humidity

Watering the plant should not be frequent, it tends to accumulate a lot of water and nutrients. In summer, this is done once a week, and in winter - every 2 weeks. It is best to look not at the calendar, but at the state of the soil. If the earth is even a little dry, it needs watering. Lack of moisture is indicated by sluggish leaves.

Water the plant with water at room temperature. The liquid is prepared in advance: let it brew for a day. Cold tap water can be harmful.

Note! Kalanchoe is considered a succulent, therefore it is able to develop normally at low humidity.

Additional humidification is not required when heating devices are in operation. But still, the leaves are sprayed periodically. The procedure is hygienic.

Top dressing and soil quality

Fertilize Kalanchoe with mineral and organic components. They should be alternated. A succulent remedy is also used. Top dressing is done every 2 weeks.

For the Kalanchoe, a special soil is required. It should be designed for cacti or succulents. You can prepare the soil on your own by mixing:

  • universal soil - 4 parts;
  • sand - 1 part.

This composition is ideal for growing flowers. To prevent the formation of mold, mulch the soil.

Flower container size

The size of the pot for a large Kalanchoe should be suitable - with a diameter of 12-18 cm. Next time the container is chosen 1-2 cm larger. Fine gravel and sand are laid out at the bottom. The drainage thickness should be 1-2 cm or more.

Kalanchoe Kalandiva is planted in a pot up to 18 cm in diameter

On a note! Although plastic flower pots are in demand, it is advisable to use clay or ceramic. These materials provide excellent "breath" of the earth and the plant itself.

Features of plant transplant after purchase

The transplant is performed after purchasing the flower, and then repeated every year. The procedure is carried out on the basis of a simple scheme:

  1. Pre-moisten the soil. This will help lift the plant out of the pot with the earthy clod.
  2. Use a new pot. Organize a drainage system. Working material - expanded clay, polystyrene.
  3. Kalanchoe is placed in a new container, covered with fresh earth.

After transplanting, the succulent needs rest for several days. To do this, he is left in a dark place. It is advisable to mulch the soil, as it helps to retain moisture for a long time in summer.

Flowering and dormant period of the plant

To achieve the colorful flowering of Kalanchoe, special care is required. The flower pleases with its beautiful appearance for about 8 months a year. Terry inflorescences are presented in the form of balls. The diameter of the flowers is 1.5 cm. The petals have bright shades. When flowering, Kalanchoe is like a mini-rose with densely placed double buds.

Kalanchoe Kalandiva has different shades. The palette contains colors such as red, crimson, pink. Some are original. Among them are yellow and white inflorescences.

Additional Information! Dissolution of buds occurs in winter. It is required in advance to create the necessary conditions for lush flowering: they are placed in a room where the temperature is moderately low and the lighting is appropriate.

During dormancy, watering should be moderate. In November, pinching of the bush is carried out. Then the buds are shown. If there was no budding and flowering in November, the preparatory measures are repeated in March. After that, Kalanchoe Kalandiva rests - 1.5-2 months. The flower must be placed in partial shade. It is important to reduce watering, lower the temperature to 14-16 ℃.

Reproduction of Kalanchoe

This plant variety is not propagated by seed. A vegetative method is used using tops, stem cuttings or single leaves. Before planting the cuttings, they are dried for several hours. Then they are planted in wet sand.

Growing problems

With insufficient care, pests negatively affect the flowering and decorative properties of the plant. Problems may arise:

  • Rot. The reason is strong moisture in the earth, low temperature in the room. Transplanting into new soil is required, pruning of damaged shoots, treatment of cut areas with activated carbon, reduction of watering.
  • Brown patches on the leaves. The problem arises when there is a lack of watering, the depletion of the plant. An increase in the volume of moisture is required.
  • Yellow leaf bloom occurs when there is a lack of sun light. The container is placed in a lighted place, a phytolamp is used.
  • Black spots of foliage are a symptom of a fungal infection. A one-time treatment with an antifungal agent is needed, a transplant into a disinfected new ground.
  • Wrinkled leaves indicate low humidity, lack of watering.Kalandiva needs to be sprayed with a spray bottle. It is also required to increase the amount of moisture.
  • The appearance of a whitish bloom is associated with powdery mildew. Bordeaux liquid or Oxyhom remedy will help eliminate the disease.
  • Aphids are removed with a solution of laundry soap.
