Violet CM Amadeus pink - description and characteristics of the variety

For many years, Saintpaulia remains one of the favorite plants in indoor floriculture. The most popular among them are varieties with terry petals, painted in unusual colors. Violet Amadeus fully fits this description.

What does the violet CM-Amadeus Pink look like?

Like all indoor violets, Amadeus belongs to the Gesneriev family. Saintpaulia Amadeus Morev is a modern hybrid bred by amateur breeder Konstantin Morev in 2012. The prefix "CM" in the name of the plant means nothing more than "Morev's seedling". In turn, pink (pink) is a literal translation of the color of the petals.

Amadeus flowers look very unusual

The rosette of the flower is quite spreading (up to 40 cm), consists of long petioles, on which large, juicy-green fleecy leaf plates are attached. The flowers reach 6 cm in diameter, deep pink with a white border along the corrugated edge.

It is interesting! As the bud opens, the color of the petals lightens.

Variety RS-Amadeus

The Amadeus variety has a variety, in the name of which, instead of the letters "CM", the abbreviation "RS" appears. This indicates that the authorship belongs to another breeder - Repkina Svetlana.

Its hybrid is similar to the described plant, except in the shape of the flowers - they are just as large and double. But the color of the petals of Amadeus PC is deep purple, without a hint of white edging.

Features of caring for a violet Amadeus at home

Saintpaulias are valued by flower growers for their unpretentiousness. But even minimal care for Amadeus has its own subtleties.

Temperature

The temperature in the room where the violet is located should not fall below 18 ° C. The upper, maximum permissible mark is 30 ° C. At the same time, there should not be too sharp temperature changes or drafts, otherwise the flower may get sick.

Lighting

Violets need diffused lighting with a sufficiently long daylight hours - up to 12 hours.

It is better to place the pots with the plant on the windowsill on the west or east side. If this cannot be done and the flower had to be placed on the south window, then you should take care of shading.

Attention! When located on the northern windowsill, the flowerpot must be additionally illuminated with a special lamp.

Watering

The flower is watered at the root, trying not to fall on the leaves. The procedure is performed 1-2 times a week, depending on the season. Only settled water at room temperature is suitable for this.

Note! It is recommended to use the "bottom irrigation" method: fill a wide tray with water 2-3 cm and lower the pots with saintpaulia into it for 20-30 minutes so that the substrate absorbs the required amount of moisture.

Spraying

It is contraindicated for Saintpaulias to get moisture on the leaves, since the flower can simply rot. If water accidentally gets on parts of the plant, carefully remove the drops with a cotton pad.

Humidity

With insufficient air humidity in the room, the leaves of the plant may curl and wither. To increase this indicator, it is recommended to install an open pebble tray filled with water near the flower.

Priming

Violet soil can be purchased at a specialty store or you can make it yourself.At the same time, the following proportions are observed:

  • 3 pieces of land;
  • 1 part peat;
  • 1 part of drainage material.

Perlite or vermicult will make the soil breathable

All components must be disinfected with a solution of potassium permanganate.

Top dressing

Fertilize Amadeus at least once every 2 weeks, not counting the dormant period. In the spring, the flower is fed with nitrogen-containing compounds, and closer to the beginning of flowering - with potassium-phosphorus preparations.

Attention! All fertilizers are applied strictly in accordance with the recommendations on the package.

When and how it blooms

Compliance with the conditions of detention allows violets to bloom almost year-round. Amadeus Pink also tends to bloom long and profusely.

Amadeus Pink flowers consist of many double petals arranged in tiers. The edges of the petals are strongly corrugated. The first corolla at the beginning of flowering may have a less wavy edge, but the petals of subsequent buds curl more and more.

The flowering period of Amadeus can reach 9-10 months a year. Withered inflorescences give way to new buds, due to which a fluffy cap of flowers is constantly kept above the rosette.

Changes in care during flowering

During the flowering period, the plant is regularly fed to prolong the process of setting new buds.

Attention! It is not recommended to move the flower to another place by changing the lighting and temperature.

How Saintpaulia Amadeus Morev reproduces

The Amadeus variety can be propagated in several ways, common to all Saintpaulias. These include:

  • cuttings;
  • germination of the cut leaf;
  • rooting of stepchildren;
  • division of the socket;
  • sowing seeds.

Most often, Amadeus is propagated by cuttings

For germination of the cutting, a sheet is cut off with a sharp disinfected tool, dipped in a cut in crushed activated carbon and placed in a container with water at room temperature. The water is changed daily until the roots appear. After that, the young plant can be rooted in the ground.

Transplant after purchase and during reproduction

After buying a new violet, it is recommended to immediately transplant it. The exception is when the flower is in the process of flowering. In this case, you should wait until the flower completes the formation of buds, and before that try to create the most favorable conditions.

Transplant the plant into a suitable soil. The pot is selected low and not too wide - no more than the size of the outlet. If at the same time the flower is divided into several outlets for the purpose of reproduction, then this rule applies to each new instance.

Important! The plant should be moved by transshipment to avoid damage to the root system.

Possible growing problems

The cause of the painful condition of Saintpaulia is most often a violation of the conditions of maintenance and care. To understand that something is wrong, you can carefully observe the state of the flower.

  • Leaf problems

Amadeus leaves may turn yellow or stained. As a rule, this indicates the need to transplant the plant. He may also need shelter from the sun, reduced fertilizer dosage, or pest control.

  • Pests

The main enemies of Saintpaulias are ticks, scale insects and nematodes. For each type of insect, the flower is treated with the appropriate acaricide, following the instructions on the package.

Amadeus blooms profusely when properly maintained

  • Diseases

When growing Amadeus, you can encounter gray mold, powdery mildew, rust and late blight. After the correct definition of the disease, treatment should be started immediately, otherwise the flower will have to be thrown away.

  • Signs of improper care

Due to violations in the care of Amadeus, flowers become smaller. They can also fade, the leaves of the plant begin to curl, wither, turn yellow or dry out.Sometimes there may be a lack of flowering. Faced with such phenomena, it is important to understand the cause and get rid of it.

Growing Amadeus on your windowsill is pretty simple. Competent care will allow you to get a luxurious plant that blooms luxuriantly almost all year round.
