When to use water

Many growers use garlic watering on an ongoing basis. Making a not too concentrated infusion, they use it instead of regular water for irrigation. With this choice of using the infusion, the plant should be carefully examined. If it's absolutely healthy, this way of leaving is perfectly acceptable. If the plant has damaged roots, the garlic can leave its own burns on them. The reason for this will be the increased concentration of juice in the soil for the orchid.

Prophylaxis

After a long winter, the exotic beauty can be fed for active growth and flowering. The optimal environmentally friendly remedy would be garlic infusion for orchids. It is used twice with an interval of 15 days, there must be regular watering between garlic waterings. The result will be visible after the first application of the garlic tincture:

  • for 3-4 days the leaves become dense, shiny;
  • a week later, new thick roots appear;
  • flower stalks appear in two weeks.

As a preventive measure, such an infusion can be used at any time of the year, if the leaves of the plant become soft and look unhealthy.

Note! When the plant is asleep, you do not need to fertilize it, there will be no benefit from this.

During flowering, water should be done with caution, as there is a risk of young buds falling off.

Treatment

If pests were found in the soil or at the base of the flower stem, they are treated until the signs of infection completely disappear. Moreover, not only watering of the plant is carried out, but also spraying of foliage. Pests will die and disappear from the soil after the third application of garlic water. It will perfectly neutralize the soil from bug larvae.

Important! When spraying the orchid, it is important not to get on the flowers and buds, because the solution leaves burns.

During treatment, watering should be alternated with the usual, so as not to harm the plant.

Flower restoration

Orchids suffer from improper care, watering regime, temperature of maintenance. The painful condition of novice growers is found in the last stages, when the plant is in a semi-living state.It is possible to feed an orchid with garlic water as a medicine with the following signs of improper care:

  • wilting of foliage;
  • yellowing of the leaf plate in whole or in part;
  • lack of new sheets;
  • decay or drying of the roots;
  • stopping the growth of the root system;
  • lack of flowering.

During treatment, it is important not only to feed the plant, but also to restore all the necessary conditions for its full growth. The results of treatment are noticeable after the first watering, but sometimes full recovery takes up to three months.

Soil change

During transplantation, the plant is examined and its damaged dry roots are cut. This procedure often deprives the orchid from 50 to 75% of the root processes. After such a "haircut", the orchid builds up the root system, not releasing new shoots of leaves and peduncles. Healing water speeds up this process.

Magic potion recipes

Wonderful water can be prepared as a concentrate that requires dilution, or it can be a ready-made infusion for irrigation.

Concentrated

For cooking you will need:

  • 85 g garlic;
  • 0.5 l of water;

Garlic must be peeled and chopped using a crusher or knife. Pour it into a jar of water and put it in a warm place for five days. On the sixth day, the infusion is ready for use after straining. For watering, you need to dilute 60 g of concentrate in 1 liter of clean water.

Important! The concentrate cannot be used in its pure form for watering or spraying, it will burn the roots and leaves of the plant.

Instant Concentrate

To use the concentrate on the day it is made, you need hot water. The head of garlic is peeled and chopped in any convenient way. Fill with hot water, let it brew for 20 minutes. After this time, you can mix in a ratio of 1.5 tbsp. spoons in half a liter of clean water.

Important! The liquid must be filtered. If the garlic particles get into the soil, they will start to rot, causing root rot, fungus and mold growth in the soil.

Irrigation water

To prepare a garlic quick solution for orchids, you need to take:

  • 3 liters of water;
  • 6 large cloves of garlic.

You can prepare an infusion that does not need dilution in a day.

Chop the garlic, pour it into a 3-liter jar of water. Put in a warm place, you can even in the sun, and insist at least night, maximum day. The mixture prepared according to this recipe can be used immediately for watering, rinsing the roots, spraying the foliage or stems of orchids.

Important! If the liquid for some reason smells sour or is covered with foam, then you cannot use it for watering orchids, as the plant will die.

Watering methods

The usual way to water orchids is to immerse the pot in a container of water. Watering orchids with garlic water is done in the same way. You should take the container into which the pot with the plant will enter, pour the garlic solution and put the flowerpot so that it is 2/3 in the water. After the time has elapsed, the pot is placed in another container or sink to allow excess liquid to drain. Depending on the purpose of such baths, the pot is in water from 15 minutes. up to 3 hours. If watering with additives is done as a preventive measure, you need a minimum amount of time. If root treatment or getting rid of parasites is being carried out, the maximum stay in the medicinal solution is required.

Note! The amount of watering time depends on the size of the pot and the root system of the plant.

It makes no sense to water the orchid in the usual way, since the loose and dry substrate for these exotics does not have time to get wet. Spraying is best used to wet the topsoil. This method is used for diseases of the roots and leaves of the plant.

Spraying is used for problems with foliage and stem elasticity, yellowing of leaves and poor root growth. Spraying is also an excellent prevention against outdoor pests that can migrate from neighboring flowers.

Important! When spraying the plant, care must be taken that water does not drain into the base of the leaf and does not accumulate at the stem. It can contribute to the appearance of rot and mold on the flower.

The need for watering is determined by the drying out of the soil in the pot and the discoloration of the roots. A plant that is saturated with moisture will have bright green roots, with a lack of moisture, they turn gray. The disturbed watering regime is also given out by leaves, which become lethargic and sinewy. Do not use garlic water for irrigation more than twice a month.

Note! It is best to use a freshly prepared infusion for each watering.

Garlic water + succinic acid

For orchids, garlic water with succinic acid protects against external factors and strengthens the plant. These two components will be an excellent eco-fertilizer for the home fussy.

Succinic acid is an excellent stimulator of growth and flowering of indoor flowers

The acid tablet must be diluted in 1 liter of hot water. Next, add 3 tbsp. tablespoons of garlic concentrate and water the plant by immersion in water. If the drug is in powder form, then it is diluted with 1 g per 1 liter of water.

Important! Infusion of garlic with succinic acid has beneficial properties for two days.

Garlic water is the easiest way to invigorate a plant and help it cope with growth problems, disease, or parasites. It is worth trying this simple orchid care recipe and they will thank you with their bright and unusual flowers.
